Taking care of you

Hello, today is May 28, 2016.  Forty years ago I lost my brother to suicide.  It seems like it was just recently.  The wound has healed but the scar remains.  The pain is sometimes fresh, but not as raw as it was all those years ago and not as often.  I live with it.  I find it is easier to deal with the memories and pain of losing someone (or fur kids) you love by staying busy.  I can keep busy by cleaning the house, by visiting others, volunteering, reading a good book, taking a drive or just enjoy hiking.  Being in nature sustains me in times of need.  I love to cook and plant different flowers or plants.  Working with the earth is cathartic and cooking is too.  The important thing is to do what you love.  It really does help in difficult times.  You do matter and are loved.  Peace will come to you and you will notice that one day you dont hurt as bad as you have.  That is a good feeling.  You are loved.  It does get easier with time, give yourself time.  You are loved and important.
