Hi and welcome to my blog. I chose the name The Saving Grace because by Gods holy grace I have made it through my life and the challenges I have faced. I never thought I would experience some of the situations I have and with his strength and a good support system I have managed to stay sane during some of the most troubling and trying times in my life.
From my childhood troubles to my children and drugs and alcohol. My youngest and my oldest are still struggling so I keep praying that one day they will see that they can live without the assistance of those crutches and have a good life. I chose Psychology to help myself and others to deal with the curve balls that life throws at you and I have learned a lot. I love to help others if they are stuck in a position where they aren't sure what to do or how to respond in a given situation. Recently I have held group meetings at the libraries where parents having legal trouble with their children can get support and assistance in how to see their loved one and what the rules are and the process to go through if their child happens to be convicted of a crime.
Unfortunately, I have more experience with this type of situation than I ever wanted but I have grown from it and what I have learned has helped other parents in a similar situation with their children. I certainly never raised my kids to do some of the things they have and to this day do not understand what happened or where I went wrong or even if I did go wrong. I have experienced the gamete of emotions that come with this experience so I can help others get past the guilt, shame, anger, embarrassment, shock and the myriad of other emotions that a parent feels when their child is convicted. I also was bullied growing up at home and at school so I can help whatever age group deal with bullying. I will build your self confidence and self esteem with little tricks I learned and it really did help. I can also point you in the direction of other resources that are helpful. Just know you are loved, you are a valued member of this world and you deserve happiness in your life no matter what.
I look forward with anticipation and hope to hear from some of you out there. I leave you with this verse and will check in with you soon. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
If you know someone that is hurting or is being bullied please send them to this page they can get comfort and encouragement in how to handle bullying before anyone gets seriously hurt. As well as if you have lost someone to drugs or alcohol or you have lost a loved one or know someone that has and is having difficulty day to day please send them here. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello. It is almost Friday and the weekend is ahead. Here is a thought to ponder for Friday. Just for today I will smile when I feel like crying, instead of having a negative remark when someone calls someone a name I will comfort the one injured. You may be the only good thing that happens to that person today. Be kind
